We’ve been updating on this excellent Chicago indie for a couple years now and (for those of you who didn’t catch the May 2008 premiere at the Gene Siskel Film Center) Farewell Darkness is now available on DVD!
Circus plays disgraced Chicago cop Roman Pasternak, the abusive father of a returning Iraq War veteran (Keith Compton). The powerful film -- in the vein of Coming Home and Taxi Driver -- takes a respectfully unflinching look at Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affecting our soldiers -- sometimes the war comes home.
